The PM interview superpower question: How I’d answer

"What's your superpower?" isn't asking for a Marvel monologue. I'd treat it as: what's your unfair advantage at work, and can you prove it?

How I'd choose

  • Something I've demonstrated repeatedly—not an aspiration
  • Relevant to PM work (judgment, synthesis, facilitation, technical empathy, storytelling)
  • Specific enough that it isn't "I'm a hard worker"
  • Easy to illustrate in under 90 seconds

Answer shape I'd use

  1. Name the strength in plain language
  2. Give a short story with stakes
  3. Show the mechanism—how you do it
  4. Mention a complementary blind spot lightly (without turning it into the weakness question)
Fluffy Grounded
"I'm a people person" "I turn conflicting stakeholder goals into a written decision frame teams can execute"
"I love products" "I run cheap tests before we scale bets"

I'd rehearse once out loud. If it sounds like a TED opener, I'd dial it back. Ask a friend if they can repeat your superpower after hearing it once—that's the bar.
