About Portal
Portal.io is a SaaS platform for professional installers (think AV integrators and security installers) who are too busy running their business to wrestle with clunky software. Thousands of small businesses use Portal today, and our Proposal tool is the core of their sales process. The mission is simple: take friction out of running an installation company so owners can focus on doing great work for their customers.
The Role
We’re seeking a Product Manager – Integrations to own Portal’s native integrations from end to end.
This role is responsible for executing and refining Portal’s native integrations with third-party software platforms. You’ll take existing, proven Portal integration workflows and help scale and replicate them across other software systems. You will manage the execution lifecycle of each integration — from requirements definition and development through testing, customer feedback, and iteration.
This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of product, engineering, customer success, and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and deeply focused on delivering integrations that feel thoughtful, reliable, and truly native — not “bolted on.”
If you like rolling up your sleeves, working directly with founders and engineers, and seeing your decisions impact customers quickly, you’ll feel at home here.
Responsibilities
Integration Execution & Management
- Execute Portal’s integration plans by managing assigned integrations from build through release and iteration.
- Take existing Portal workflows and ensure they are accurately and reliably implemented across third-party platforms.
- Manage enhancements and improvements to existing integrations based on defined requirements and customer feedback.
Requirements & Execution
- Define detailed product requirements, workflows, and data mappings for each integration.
- Work closely with Engineering to guide integrations through development, ensuring clarity around edge cases, sync logic, and failure states.
- Ensure integrations meet Portal’s standards for usability, performance, and reliability.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Own testing for integrations, including internal QA, edge-case validation, and real-world scenarios.
- Coordinate beta testing or early access with select customers when appropriate.
- Ensure issues are identified, documented, and resolved prior to release.
Customer Feedback & Iteration
- Partner with customers using Portal integrations to gather feedback and identify friction points.
- Work with Customer Success and Support to understand integration-related issues and trends.
- Iterate on integrations based on real-world usage and customer input.
Cross-Functional & Partner Collaboration
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure integrations feel cohesive within Portal’s product experience.
- Work with Marketing and Customer Success on launch communication, documentation, and enablement.
- Coordinate with external software partners when necessary to align on API capabilities, changes, and timelines.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of Product Management experience, ideally working on SaaS integrations or platform features
- Strong understanding of APIs, data flows, and system-to-system integrations (you don’t need to code, but you must understand how things connect).
- Experience owning features from concept through launch and iteration.
- Excellent ability to translate technical complexity into clear product requirements and customer-friendly experiences.
- Comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving environment with short sprint cycles.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.
- Bonus: Experience with accounting, CRM, or operational tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho, Salesforce).
How We Like to Work
At Portal, integrations aren’t just a feature on a checklist — they’re a big part of whether customers trust and rely on the product. When an integration works well, Portal becomes the hub of their business. When it doesn’t, it creates frustration and extra work. This role exists to make sure our integrations are executed cleanly, reliably, and in a way that supports real-world installer workflows.
As the Product Manager for Integrations, you’ll be focused on execution. You’ll take well-defined workflows and ensure they are implemented correctly across third-party platforms, working closely with engineering and customers to validate behavior and close gaps.
We move quickly and expect Product Managers to take ownership of their work, think clearly, and stay focused on the customer experience. If you care deeply about getting the details right and building integrations customers can depend on, this role will be a great fit.
