You got the PM offer. Congrats. Day one isn't "ship a vision deck"—I'd build context and trust before I rearrange anyone's roadmap.

Who I'd talk to first

  1. My manager: success metrics, landmines, decision rights
  2. Eng lead: constraints, debt, what "urgent" usually means here
  3. Design / research: what's known vs. folklore
  4. Sales / CS / support: the last ten painful customer moments
  5. A few real users or proxies—soon, not "after I read everything"

How I'd spend the first 90 days

Window Focus
Days 1–30 Listen, map systems, ship something small and real
Days 31–60 Own a clear problem slice; show decision quality
Days 61–90 Propose a sharper roadmap narrative with tradeoffs

I'd avoid rewriting process in week one. Earn the right.

A PM Certification can accelerate the craft vocabulary; on-the-job judgment still comes from reps.
