PMs drown in meetings when every conversation needs "alignment." I'd default to async clarity and protect a few high-leverage rituals that actually change decisions.

Meetings I'd keep

  • Decision reviews with a written option set beforehand
  • Customer / user time on a fixed cadence
  • Working sessions that produce an artifact in the room
  • 1:1s that unblock people, not status theater

Meetings I'd challenge

  1. Status standups that could be a doc
  2. "Syncs" with no owner, agenda, or decision
  3. Huge forums where dissent dies politely
  4. Recurring placeholders nobody remembers creating
Rule Why
Agenda + desired decision in the invite Forces intent
Pre-read or cancel Respects makers' time
End with owners + dates Turns talk into motion

Meeting craft is product craft—you're designing a system for decisions. Sharpen that system with a PM Certification and the newsletter.
