Product Engineer

PURPOSE:

Position is responsible for providing development and design of forging and manufacturing processes and tooling through forge and heat treat FEA modeling to properly meet customer requirements, then necessary control of estimating, design, processing and tooling to ensure all specs are met in efficient, cost-effective manner. Also provide engineering support to Operations for equipment and facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform design through forge and heat-treat modeling.
  • Lead engineering efforts to obtain, through experimentation and FEA analysis, boundary conditions such that heat treat modeling can be performed.
  • Support and lead cost saving projects/efforts
  • Assist in sales effort.
  • Understanding of forging operations, Unigraphics, and FEA.
  • Maintain quality improvement and industry standards.
  • Quality systems review.
  • Work on six Sigma, FMEA and RC/CA activities

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering required, MS preferred
  • Excellent computer aptitude required with regards to data and statistical analysis, Unigraphics, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of PCC/Wyman-Gordon operations.
  • 2D Modeling, Deform, CFD Modeling
  • Classical blueprint interpretation / GD&T knowledge.
  • Statistical Analysis. (Six Sigma, Minitab, Quantum SPC).

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical background.
  • Organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Quality assurance process skills.
  • Can work well with colleagues and customers.
  • ITAR/EAR background
