JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Product Development Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Product Development

LOCATION: Plant 5 Corporate Campus

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager of Product Development. LEE is seeking an exceptional engineer with Inside upholstery and pattern making skills along with AutoCAD and Solid Works experience. As a PD Engineer you will have a strong mindset to work within a team environment to develop new products for LEE along with proprietary products for specific customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development of furniture frame both CNC routed and conventional lumber
  • Development of wood furniture components, posts, feet and bases
  • Development of padding and fill patterns
  • Development of fabric and leather patterns
  • Develop renderings
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Inside Upholstery experience preferred
  • Cushion/Poly experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Spring Up Development (8 way hand tie, sinuous, webbing)
  • AutoCAD or equivalent (minimum 2 years)
  • Solid Works or Solid Edge experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong communication skills and interactive capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with daily interruptions
  • Flexible to work on multiple and varying tasks at the same time, sometimes with conflicting deadlines
  • Flexible and willing to continue skill development, as well as teach others your skills
  • A natural self-starter who follows the tasks to end

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Development of furniture frame both CNC routed and conventional lumber
  • Able to travel to High Point (LEE Showroom) during Furniture Market
  • Organized and Detail Oriented
  • Able to work full time and willing to work alternate schedule as business needs require
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel…)

EFFORT:

  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
