Product Designer

👋 WHO WE ARE

Skillit is a team of builders on a mission to fix the world’s labor crisis. Together we share a powerful vision: to empower humanity to build a better, healthier and more sustainable world. Trusted by thousands of the nation’s most skilled workers and top contractors, Skillit is quickly becoming the way the nation’s skilled trades get hired.

🚀 ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a part-time Product Designer to work hand in hand with our Head of Product to take stakeholder feedback (skilled workers, employers, internal teams etc) and craft intuitive and fun user experiences. Building atop and expanding on our existing brand and design vocabulary you will help us bring new features from conceptual to actual.

🏋️‍♀️ WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collaborate with product & engineering teams to design user-centric interfaces for both sides of our labor marketplace.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Ensure a cohesive and intuitive user experience across all product touchpoints.

💡 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in product design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Photoshop
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design projects and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry or staffing solutions / marketplaces is a plus.

🧬 WHO YOU ARE:

  • Entrepreneurial: You thrive in ambiguity, think like an owner and you will do whatever it takes to retain and expand customers. You love to hustle and are unafraid to roll-up your sleeves and execute well.
  • Ambitious: You’re passionate about complex problems that impact millions of lives and build towards solutions every day. You thrive in an environment with nascent products and processes, and you’re driven to stand up new businesses with limited information.
  • Professional: You work hard, keep your word and only bring your professional self to work.
  • Human-centric: You put people first, technology a close second. Humans are irrational and you love them for it.
  • Curious: You’re experimental, invest calories getting to the right answer and revel in contrarian points of view.
  • Collaborative: You seek a variety of perspectives, leverage collective genius, communicate clearly and support your colleagues and team wholeheartedly.
  • Great Communicator: You excel at rapidly responding to all parties while adapting the Skillit story to all of our stakeholders. You can build appropriate rapport to manage constructive and effective relationships and relate well to all kinds of people. You can write clearly, accurately, and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. You have strong listening skills and empathy.
  • Problem Solver: You solve one problem after the next in the pursuit of building something great. You love the challenge of tackling difficult situations and finding solutions to meet our worker’s needs. You can skillfully negotiate in tough situations and win concessions without damaging relationships.
  • Always Learning: You seek feedback for improvement, are open to criticism, and grow through collaboration and reflection. You don’t wait for others to open doors and make things happen for you. You learn from peer successes and seek best practices for continued self-improvement.
  • Results Driven: You are bottom-line and metrics oriented, and you can be counted on to exceed goals with grace.
  • Available: You are available and eligible to start full time employment in the U.S.
